RENAULT TRUCKS – MKR TECHNOLOGY “AMBUSHED”
With a win and four podium places, the Renault Trucks - MKR Technology team delivered a fine performance at Jarama in Spain. These results consolidated its second place in the team rankings. With only one race to go at the end of the season, the Championship crown is still within reach and the team will be fighting up to the end. Everything will hinge on the event at Le Mans on 8 and 9 October for a final which promises to be superb. The Jarama Grand Prix enabled the Iberian subsidiary to welcome over 350 customers and present the Renault Trucks range as well as a variety of different attractions to the 40,000 visitors attending the event.
After the magnificent 1-2-3 at Most (with the three trucks taking the first three places), the Renault Trucks - MKR Technology team almost pulled it off again during the Saturday race at Jarama. With Markus Bösiger and Markus Oestreich taking first and second, Adam Lacko was less than a second away from being on the third step of the podium! Despite a Sunday spoilt by the first six trucks becoming involved in a collision - including the three MKR drivers, the Team was able to consolidate its Second place in the team rankings with a lead of more than 100 points over the Third. In the driver stakes, Adam Lacko is currently third with 283 points, while the two Markuses are respectively fifth and six (with 257 and 240 points).
Taking place in summer-like weather (with temperatures of over 30° on the Saturday and Sunday), the Jarama event gave the Renault Trucks’ Iberian subsidiary an opportunity to give the brand a high profile. In the “village” area, a space of over 500 m² welcomed the visitors who were able to admire different vehicles in the range (from the Master to the Sherpa and Magnum) and enjoy several different attractions. As popular as ever, the Renault Trucks Racing simulators drew several hundred enthusiasts who were able to compete against each other throughout the weekend, with those recording the best performances walking away with prizes!
In the “paddock” area, Renault Trucks Iberia welcomed over 350 customers and VIPs who were able to witness the races under the best possible conditions from a terrace with a splendid uninterrupted view of the straight in front of the stands!
The next – and final – race of the season will take place at Le Mans in France during the 24 Hour Truck Racing meeting on 8 and 9 October.
